Meet Monica
Hello and welcome! I’m Monica, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping individuals achieve mental well-being in a compassionate, inclusive, and stigma-free environment. At The Inner Piece, I’m committed to creating a space where everyone feels safe, heard, and supported throughout their mental health journey.
I believe that mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. Each individual has their own unique story, and my goal is to meet you where you are, listen deeply to your needs, and work collaboratively to find the best path forward. I work with a diverse range of clients, but I have a particular passion for supporting Black women.
As a Black woman myself, I understand the layered complexities of navigating both mental health and cultural identity in a society that doesn’t always prioritize these intersections. There’s often a silence and stigma surrounding mental health care within Black communities, particularly for women, and it’s my mission to challenge that. I want to create an environment where you can talk openly and authentically about your struggles without fear of judgment.
I offer a holistic approach to care, blending evidence-based practices with cultural sensitivity, and I strive to empower every client to embrace their strengths while addressing their unique challenges. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or simply seeking a space to talk, I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges and foster long-lasting growth.
Mental health is a journey, not a destination, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can break down the barriers that prevent people from seeking care, and work toward building a future where everyone feels comfortable prioritizing their mental health.
I look forward to working with you, helping you heal, and supporting your growth into the best version of yourself.
